Certificate in Chaplaincy
(CCH13)
This area of ​​concentration is directed to all people who have accepted a special call from God to be chaplains. Their training will emphasize service to others, to guide, reconcile, sustain, support, and provide comfort to people in need in times of crisis and who face emotional and spiritual problems. The program is designed to introduce the student to his or her calling as a responsible professional, faithful to his or her faith, with tools to listen, support, and work with love, trust, and hope with people in crisis, but with respect for other faith perspectives, careful not to impose his or her own values ​​or religious beliefs.
The eight (8) week program does not offer academic credits, as the objective is to introduce students to the generalities of the Chaplaincy Ministry so that they have the knowledge of what it means to serve in this ministerial area.

​Objectives

Help the student discover the branch of chaplaincy that he or she prefers.

Study the evolution and development of chaplaincy throughout history, with special emphasis on military, prison, hospital, school and university institutions, as well as with adolescents, young people and families.

Recruit, motivate, train and prepare chaplains who are new to the ministry.

Train chaplains as ethical, professional people to help people with emotional, spiritual and integral development problems.

Train the chaplain to take his or her pastoral authority seriously and use it to bless and strengthen his or her community, especially the weakest.

Learning Application
Upon completion of this Certification, the student will have the basic knowledge to begin his or her work as a beginner chaplain in his or her Christian congregation or local community. The graduate will be able to:

Ministering to other human beings in crisis with love, understanding and faith.

Helping others reflect on the meaning of their lives, knowing their fears, identifying what motivates them, as well as their purposes.
